🔋 Lyten to Invest Over $1 Billion in Nevada Lithium-Sulfur Battery Gigafactory 🌟
Silicon Valley startup Lyten has announced plans to build the world’s first gigafactory for lithium-sulfur batteries in Reno, Nevada. The company will invest over $1 billion in the facility, which is expected to create 200 jobs initially, increasing to over 1,000 in the region.
With the ability to produce up to 10 gigawatt-hours of batteries annually, the facility aims to start production in 2027. Lyten's lithium-sulfur technology promises batteries that are up to 40% lighter than traditional lithium-ion cells, catering to markets like drones, micromobility, space, and defense.
This initiative aligns with efforts to reduce reliance on China for battery materials and develop domestic supply chains in North America. 🚀🔋

US Aerospace Company Natilus Unveils Low-Emissions Aircraft 🌍✈️
Aerospace company Natilus has announced the development of its new commercial aircraft, the "Horizon," which aims to reduce emissions by 50% and fuel consumption by 30% compared to current airliners. Utilizing a blended wing body design, this innovative aircraft allows for smaller engines and improved aerodynamic efficiency.
The Horizon will transport up to 200 passengers on routes such as Los Angeles to Boston and New York to London. Expected to enter the market in the early 2030s, it targets airlines' 2050 net-zero goals.
Natilus’s co-founder and CEO, Aleksey Matyushev, emphasized that the Horizon will derive 50% of its lift from its fuselage and 50% from its wings, contrasting with traditional designs that rely heavily on wing lift. The aircraft is also compatible with both Jet A fuel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), addressing concerns about the current production limitations of SAF in the aviation sector. 🌱✨
